More About Our Course
This 27 Hour Nail Specialty Trainee Course is offered to those who are participating in a New York State Nail Specialty Traineeship as an alternate pathway of obtaining their New York State Nail Specialty License. A traineeship requires the completion of the Nail Specialty Trainee 27 Hour Course through a BPSS approved school.
Shear Ego International School of Hair Design offers this course as in-classroom only, no parts of this course can be completed as online participation. Applicants to this course must be at least 17 1/2 years of age and will be required to produce a copy of a state or government issued photo ID as proof of identity. The applicant must also provide a copy of their high school diploma or GED as proof of completion of high school, per BPSS requirements for enrollment of this course. Should an applicant's diploma have been achieved from another country and is in a different language, the applicant will need to have their diploma both translated and evaluated by a licensed translation/evaluation service prior to their registration in the course. Upon completion of the course, applicants will be required to take a 100 question multiple choice exam and must receive a passing grade of 76% or above to obtain their completion paperwork and certificate.

$750.00 ($50.00 registration fee at the time of completion of registration form, $700 balance to be paid at least 5 business days prior to the course start by major credit card (AmEx, Discover, Visa, MC), or by money order or official check (no personal/business checks).

NOTE: Per BPSS regulations, we are only permitted to enroll 20 students per class. Should the class you selected become full prior to your registration, you will be alerted once we have received and reviewed your registration form.
Conditions of Registration:
Once your registration form has been received by an Admissions Representative from Shear Ego International School of Hair Design, the registration form will either be approved or denied based upon met requirements and the capacity of the class. You are not fully registered for this course until you have received your confirmation letter from an Admissions Representative and have made your $50.00 registration fee payment. Once you have received your confirmation letter, you will have 24 hours from the date of the confirmation letter to complete your $50.00 registration fee for the course. Once the registration fee has been paid, your registration will be considered complete and you will receive your official welcome letter for the course, along with the course policies and procedures and any additional information to prepare you for your course. Please do NOT make a registration fee payment prior to receiving your confirmation letter from an Admissions Representative.
Applicant’s will be required to pay their remaining balance of $700.00 no later than 5 business days prior to the start date of the course. If payment has not been received by that time, the applicant will forfeit their enrollment in the course, as well as the non-refundable $50.00 registration fee. Payments can be made by card at www.shearegoschool.com or you may mail an official check or money order made payable to: Shear Ego International School. Business/personal checks will not be accepted. Money orders/official checks should be mailed to: Shear Ego International School of Hair Design 525 Titus Avenue Rochester, NY 14617. Any payments mailed MUST be received by the school no later than 5 business days prior to the start of the course.
On the first day of the course, applicant’s will be required to show proof of identification (state or government issued photo ID ONLY) and will be required to complete a course enrollment agreement. Any applicant’s under the of 18 MUST have a parent/legal guardian present with them at the start of the class to sign the enrollment documents with the student and will also be required to show proof of identification (state or government issued ID ONLY).
